Magnet magnetization

Many customers looking for magnets (new purchases) may have just come into contact with the magnet, and may not understand the magnetizing direction of the magnet. They don’t know how to make a good expression with the magnet supplier. Today, the AlM magnet manufacturer will tell you more detail about the magnetizing direction of the magnet. We have also provided corresponding pictures for your reference.

Generally, the most commonly used magnets are round magnet /disc magnet/ cylinder magnet/ ring magnet/ countersunk(counterbore) magnet, square/ square countersunk(counterbore) magnet, magnet tile, etc.

Round magnet /disc magnet/ cylinder magnet

Mainly axial and radial magnetization. We express the size as Diameter size x Thickness/height size.

Ring magnet/ countersunk(counterbore) magnet:

mainly for axial and radial magnetization, and axial magnetization is the most used. The customer can specify the side of the counterbore as N pole or S pole

square magnets/ square countersunk(counterbore) magnet

we default the magnetizing direction of the square magnet to the last one size. For example, a neodymium square magnet of F10*10*2, the default magnetizing direction is 2mm. Generally, we will ask the customer which two sides to use, such as F10*10*2 in the example just now, the surface with strong magnetic force is the 10*10 surface, which is the two ends of the magnet. The same as square countersunk(counterbore) magnet, The countersunk side can be North or South pole.

Tile-shaped magnets:

The tile-shaped magnets used in motors are generally magnetized in a radial direction. In addition to radial magnetization, there are the following magnetizing methods.
